Jack Benny started playing violin in vaudeville at 17 in the same theatre that the young Marx Brothers were appearing. He soon had one of the most popular radio shows in America. He followed that up with his TV show that ran for 16 years. He also appeared in severalmovies including the classic, "To Be Or Not To Be".
Jack played the persona of the cheapskate with his most famous line coming during a hold-up. The robber asks him "your money or your life?" After a long pause, he replies "I'm thinking..."
